Course Objectives :

The objective of this training workshop is to provide participants with tools for effective contract management to enable their organisation to accomplish its strategic procurement goals. Participants will learn the legal, human and commercial issues around legally binding contracts, as well as steps for designing and developing  robust performance management systems.

Contents :

1. Why contract management systems are important in the procurement process including the legal  and people issues affecting contracts

2.Putting together a framework for managing  binding contracts - the different approaches- eg service level agreement etc

3. Agreeing targets and key performance indicators linked to specification and binding contracts

4. Human resourcing   and accountability issues in relation to  suppliers performance management

5. Planning and managing  supplier performance meetings  effectively

6. Tackling challenges and poor performance issues including contract termination

7. Building on strengths and surveying suppliers for effective feedback and action plan for improvement

8. Lots of exercises and case study review.
